TO Series: TOW-CB/HB
TOW-CB/HB: Flange Type
TO series linear ball guides is a kind of linear guideway with heavy load capacity. It’s widely applied in CNC machine tools, Grinding machine and some other automated machines. In general, IMTEK linear guide blocks are divided into flange type and square type. The flange type linear bearing blocks have a low combined height and a large bearing area, which is suitable for the occasions that bear the load of the distance.
- Different linear guide block fixing method:
Lock from above(TOW-CA/HA);
Lock from below(TOW-CB/HB);
Lock from above or below(TOW-CC/HC). - Different length of TO series Flange type:
-CA/CB/CC for normal length
-HA/HB/HC for extra length of linear guide block. - Different materials of IMTEK linear ball guides:
-Alloy steel for normal series products.
-Stainless steel material, a new version for special application environment. - If you hope a better performance on rust corrosion resistance, please contact IMTEK for further recommendation about the stainless steel version linear guide rails and block.
TOW-CB/HB (Flange Type Blocks)
With flange-type blocks, IMTEK linear guides have three different block fixing methods:
Lock from above(TOW-CA/HA); Lock from below(TOW-CB/HB); Lock from above or below(TOW-CC/HC).
The TOW-CB/HB model is a linear guide block locking from below (TOW-CB/HB);
-CB for normal length block and -HB for extra length of block.
TO series linear guides is divided into two types: non-interchangeable type and interchangeable type. Both of them share the same specifications but the blocks and rails of interchangeable type can be used interchangeably.

Key Features of TOW-CB/HB Flange Type Linear Guides

Flange Block Design for Higher Mounting Stability
The flange-type block structure provides a larger mounting surface and improved fastening stability, making it suitable for applications requiring stronger support and more secure installation.
Three Accuracy Grades for Different Motion Requirements
TOW-CB/HB linear guides are available in C (normal), H (high), and P (precision) accuracy grades. This allows the guide specification to be matched to the machine’s positioning requirements while avoiding unnecessary over-specification.

Interchangeable and Non-Interchangeable Options
TOW-CB/HB linear guides are available in both interchangeable and non-interchangeable configurations. Interchangeable versions allow compatible blocks and rails of the same size and specification to be ordered or replaced separately, simplifying maintenance and spare-parts management. Non-interchangeable versions are supplied as complete rail-and-block assemblies.
Higher Rigidity for Heavy-Duty Applications
The larger rail structure and longer block design provide higher rigidity and stronger moment resistance for CNC machines, automation systems, and heavy-duty equipment.

Why Are Bottom-Mounted Linear Guide Blocks Used in Some Machine Designs?
Bottom-mounted linear guide blocks are commonly used in machine structures where there is limited installation space above the guide block. They are widely applied in compact automation systems, enclosed machine frames, and equipment designs where mounting bolts must be accessed from the bottom side for easier assembly and maintenance.
How to choose between CB and HB?
Choose CB if your machine has limited installation space and the load is moderate. Choose HB if you need better rigidity, higher load distribution, or improved stability for heavier-duty motion.
